New Mexico Unit 57

Our rifle elk hunts are conducted on thousands of privately owned acres in Northeastern New Mexico, which consists of foothills and rugged mountain country with elevation ranging from 6,800 to 9,000 feet, with ponderosa pine, oak brush, parks and meadows mixed in with canyons and mesas.

We have seen as many as 400 head of elk grazing on the mesa at one time.

This ranch goes to the Colorado Border and adjoins the Crazy French Ranch. The Crazy French Ranch is noted for its large bulls. There is only a barbed wire fence that separates the two ranches.

Our hunts are strictly fair chase hunts - no high fences. Taking a trophy elk is a thrill of a lifetime. Our normal success rate is between 88% - 92%. We pride ourselves on our reputation and we will do everything possible to ensure that your hunt is a success.

We offer full-service hunts which includes meals, lodging, 2x1 guide service and game care. If any hunter would like to upgrade to a 1x1 there will be an additional $1,000 cost. On our full-service hunts we offer six different 5-day hunts. These hunts start in October and run to the first week of December.

We also offer a combination elk/ mule deer hunt in late October and early November at $9,500 plus elk and mule deer hunting license.

New Mexico Unit 55

This hunt is conducted thousands of privately owned acres in the Moreno Valley, between Eagle Nest and Red River, New Mexico, which consists of foothills and rugged mountain terrain with elevation ranging up to 12,500 feet, with timber of ponderosa pine, aspen along with parks and meadows. This ranch has many canyons and heavy timber which holds elk during the heat of the day.

This area is historically noted for large herds of free ranging elk. Our hunts are strictly fair chase hunts - no high fences. Taking a trophy elk is the thrill of a lifetime. Our normal success rate is between 88%-92%. We pride ourselves on our reputation and we will do everything possible to ensure that your hunt is a success.

We offer full service hunts which includes meals, lodging, 2x1 guide service and game care. If any hunter would like to upgrade to a 1x1 there will be an additional $1,000 cost. We also offer an unguided elk hunt ("do it yourself"), in Unit 55, where hunters are to furnish their own meals, lodging and game care. There will be a guide on the ranch to show hunters where to hunt, how to hunt, boundaries and other needs.

On our "do it yourself' hunts we offer two different 5-day hunts which are October 27-31 and November 4-8. The cost of these hunts are $3800 plus tax and licenses.

There is no draw for elk tags on private land in New Mexico. The elk tags are obtained by guaranteed land owner permits which are supplied as part of the cost of your hunt.

Hunters must purchase their own hunting license plus New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax of 5.75%.

All hunters wishing to purchase any big game or turkey license must first purchase an annual Game-hunting License.  This is a new mandatory regulation issued by the New Mexico Game & Fish Department for the 2012 hunting season.
